Reducing a child’s risk and alleviating their suffering requires that information be gathered in assessment that can be used to classify the child into a risk category and to identify a target for intervention that can reduce the risk. This session focuses on the type of information that could be gathered in practice for these purposes and the decisions that can be made from it to reduce the child’s risk and to alleviate their suffering. We will illustrate this practice with an intervention model designed for this purpose.
