Practitioners need a sufficient quality of predictive and causal knowledge to make decisions that will benefit children. Thus, they depend on their field’s scientific research to produce this knowledge.  Unfortunately, the quality of the available predictive and causal knowledge is woefully inadequate to support these decisions. In this session, we will discuss limitations in the current scientific paradigm for producing this knowledge, including limitations in research methods, diagnostic processes, and interventions.
